Dr. Suzanne Palekar
Bio:

Dr. Suzanne Palekar is a board certified Psychiatrist. She believes that a personalized mix of medication based on evidence-based research and a genuine understanding of the patient leads to best outcomes. This treatment philosophy is best executed in collaboration with other disciplines such as therapy, social work and primary medicine. She is currently a faculty member at Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine and on staff at Main Line Health System. She is active in medical education, teaching medical students and resident physicians. She is intimately familiar with the mental health landscape in and around Philadelphia.

Dr. Palekar graduated from Georgetown University and completed medical school at New York Institute of Technology School of Osteopathic medicine. She completed her residency at Zucker Hillside Hospital, part of Northwell Health in New York, where she served as chief resident. After her residency, she was on faculty at New York University School of Medicine & practiced inpatient psychiatry at Bellevue Hospital.

Clinical Interests:
Dr. Palekar enjoys treating mental illness across a spectrum of severity. She has special interest in women's mental health including pregnancy planning, treatment during pregnancy and postpartum period. She is an expert in Electroconvulsive Therapy and has provided this service at various institutions across the northeast. In her in-patient roles, she successfully treats the most severe cases of mental illness.
